You know that yoga has so much to offer but maybe you’re unsure where to start.

Maybe you feel nervous about trying something new, anxious you’re doing something wrong or worried you’ll hurt yourself.

I’m so excited to offer a new Chair Yoga class to help you have fun and feel confident in your body!

This chair yoga class is intended for folks who:

  • are new to yoga or prefer a gentler yoga practice

  • would like to strengthen the body without the fear of losing your balance

  • are looking for an active yoga practice but would like to use a chair for added stability while seated and standing (note - this class includes the option to come to standing and down on the floor)

  • feel uncomfortable weight-bearing on wrists or knees due to injury, arthritis or mobility challenges

You don’t have to touch your toes or be at a certain fitness level to join us. Variations will be provided and you’ll be encouraged to listen to your body, take breaks, or opt out of movements as you like.

The intention of this Chair Yoga class is for you to:

  • Stretch and strengthen your body, plus challenge your balance in a beginner-friendly environment

  • Learn how to use yoga props (e.g., blocks, bolsters, blankets) to make the practice more accessible and more challenging

  • Feel confident in your understanding of common yoga asana and explore ways to practice yoga in a way that works for your body!

We welcome students of all ages (including older adults), students who are plus-size or in bigger bodies, LGBTQIA+ students, and people who don’t feel comfortable going to larger yoga studios.

Mondays | 11:30 a.m. - 12:45 p.m | January 6 - 27 (4 weeks) | $84 *3 spots remaining!

Class size is limited to 8 people.

This class is also available online on Thursday evenings. Please inquire.

Classes are held at the Varsity Clinic in NW Calgary

REFUND POLICY: To provide individualized attention and to build community, we keep class sizes small. Because your fee reserves your spot in the class for the session, registration fees are non-refundable.

MISSED CLASSES: Because your registration fee saves your spot in the class for the session, refunds and prorating are not available for missed classes. Larissa teaches weekly classes online—if you miss a class you are welcome to join an online class!
