Intro to Restorative Yoga with Larissa
About Intro to Restorative Yoga
Are you exhausted and craving deep rest and stillness? Are you interested in learning how to build a rest practice for yourself?
Many of us have forgotten how to rest. Like many things, rest is a skill that needs to be cultivated and practiced. Restorative Yoga is one technique that can help us tap into deep states of relaxation. Through this practice we can replenish the physical body and connect with our intuition and creativity.
I’m so excited to share a new class series starting this January called Intro to Restorative Yoga.
In this series you will learn:
The benefits of Restorative yoga and why deep rest is so beneficial for our health
Common challenges and obstacles we may encounter with Restorative yoga
Gentle breathing techniques
How to use yoga props to support your body for comfort and relaxation
Gentle movement to prepare the body for rest
This class will include opportunity for questions, sharing, and discussion.
We welcome students of all ages (including older adults), students who are plus-size or in bigger bodies, LGBTQIA+ students, and people who don’t feel comfortable going to larger yoga studios.
Will you come practice with us? I would LOVE to have you in class!
The small print:
If you are looking for strengthening or a more active class, please consider Explore Yoga.
There will be no weight-bearing on wrists or knees in this class and most of the class will be spent low to the floor. Variations and options are always offered, and students are welcomed and encouraged to listen to what their body needs in each moment. This class is accessible for folks who can easily get down onto the floor.
Some yoga experience is recommended, but not required. If unsure, please reach out and I can help you decide if this is a good fit!
If you currently have active PTSD or anxiety, please check with your health provider if this class would be suitable for you.
