Happy Pride 2022! Social Media to Follow
As a plus-size member of the queer community, I spent years thinking that I would not be welcome in yoga. Turns out, I was just looking at the wrong people! That’s why social media representation from folks of all genders, sexualities, skin colours, and body shapes is an integral part of yoga being welcoming for everyone.
In honour of Pride, here is a list of my top 3 social media accounts from 2SLGBTQ+ creators:
#3
Jivana Heyman (he/him) at Accessible Yoga
From Jivana’s website: “... founder and director of the Accessible Yoga Association, an international non-profit organization dedicated to increasing access to yoga teachings.”
Check out Accessible Yoga if you want to see people working in a myriad of ways to make yoga more accessible for everyone.

Susanna Barkataki (she/her)
I was literally 5 minutes from pressing publish on this post, when I saw that Susanna Barkataki came out as Queer on Instagram! I was so excited to chek out her new videos on How to Queer Your Yoga and Why is Queerness Yogic?
From Susanna’s website: “Today, I work to showcase yoga in action, spread the message of diversity and inclusion, and help people connect through yoga to live a happy, fulfilling life for themselves and others.”
